PROGRAM · SLUSHMAKES · approx. 5 glasses
Ingredients
approx. 1.4 LAdjust amount
- 1000 ml fresh watermelon juice (strained, seedless)
- 110 g sugar
- 200 ml water
- 1 splash of lemon juice
Preparation
- 1Stir the strained watermelon juice with the water and the splash of lemon juice.
- 2Add the sugar and stir until completely dissolved.
- 3Pour the mixture into the machine and start the slush mode so the coarse crystal texture typical of granita develops.
- 4Fill the granita into tall glasses, fluff it up briefly with a fork and garnish with a piece of melon.
Tip
Blend the watermelon and pass it through a sieve so no seeds get in the way. The splash of lemon keeps the colour fresh and rounds off the sweetness.
Variation
Sicilian tradition: add a hint of jasmine blossom aroma for a Gelo di Mellone.
